Week ending 20/2/15

Decided Mondays a better day for updating the blog.
Quiet week last week probably due to half term week. Also on the Dynamics Nav side of the business there have been 2 of our clients where there has been a change in our key contact. Which puts all potential / booked work on hold for a few months.
So work completed last week was as follows:
Developments -
Rewrote item sales forecast report to include all historic item sales, new item sales forecast data and released / firm planned production orders. Previous report derived a list of item / customers using historic sales data.
Created a new report to calculate a safety stock quantity using vendor lead times and anticipated sales. The report then compares this value to the current safety stock quantity.
Further requests for data from Nav for migration to another application. This time for a month's transactions for purchase ledger (invoices posted, payments made) and general ledger. Sample files requested from us and we started work on this last week. Proposing, given the mix of data, to use dataports, include headers and then collect data not in main tables into globals. This work will be completed this week.
First line support-
Slot booked this week with German subsidiary of client for 2 hour Nav run through via TeamViewer for new member of staff.
Resolved default dimension posting for legacy data feeds caused by bespoke change to posting codeunit 12 to take all balance sheet type general ledger account postings to fixed dimension value. User had made a change to the general ledger account to make ot a balance sheet type account so bespoke forced dimension code triggered.
Made minor bug fix change to a client's aged stock report that picks up the last sales date. Used incorrect key that included location code. Needed just the item number and posting date key.
Made minor change to a report to include description 2 off the item record.
Received an enquiry re archiving Navision 2.01 - or at least how to ensure read only access. Responded and offered more help but no further emails. very old version - came out in 2000.
Outside Nav, updated the web pages for more recent content and slight change to layout. Checked Google Analytics and we get a high per cent bounce rate so made some changes to try and resolve this.
That's it for this week. On reflection did not seem a busy week but varied!
